It’s hard to believe it’s September already. We are just about to leave Regina towards Moose Jaw. We are planning on taking a day to sightsee Moose Jaw tomorrow. After Moose Jaw it will take us two days to reach Swift Current. After Swift Current it will take us two days to reach Alberta.
The weather is now beautifully sunny but on the cool side at 15 C. Warmer weather is on its way and we can’t wait.
Update from Katherine:
It was a beautiful flat ride out from Regina to Moose Jaw. We dogged rain clouds along the way but managed to avoid it all. It’s amazing to watch the rain rolling across the prairies, you can see it hours before it gets to you. We went by a large fertilizer plant that we saw in the distance. Apparently it is a multi-million dollar operation!
We camped at the Riverbank Park in Moose Jaw and headed into town for dinner and a visit to the mineral spa. We ate at Houston Pizza, where the non-tomato sauce pizzas are soy-free!! Then we had an awesome time relaxing in the Temple Mineral Spa hot springs! It was amazing, so warm and relaxing and we felt great afterwards. At the Mineral Bath we met Jamen, his wife, their 15-year old son and his younger brother Jacob. We had a really nice chat, including about each others travels in Europe and Asia, about the surrounding area and some really neat tidbits about Moose Jaw. Later on we met another couple in the bath who were interested in our trip. The bath was a real social scene! We were very jealous that we didn’t have a natural hot spring in our town as well. After soaking in the tub we had a great smoothie then biked back to our campground feeling relaxed and well rested.
